Beautiful hand-made basket woven from sweet-smelling elephant grass. Generous flat bottom; black leather-wrapped handle.
This basket is perfect for the market, harvesting produce, picnics or storing toys, knitting, textiles or magazines…and much more. (Photo shows rolled-up hand towels for perspective.)
Condition: very good; hardly used
Dimensions: approx. 16" - 18" in diameter (see photos); height approx. 9" to rim and14.5" to top of handle (Basket is malleable and slightly oval.)
Please note: to reduce shipping costs and packaging, baskets are flattened. This doesn’t harm them.
If your basket becomes misshapen, it's easy to re-form by submerging in water (keeping the leather handle above water) for 5-10 minutes. Then remove, reshape and let dry completely on a towel.
