Rimage Prism CD/DVD Thermal Printer - no cables or software or ribbon included. The limit of my testing is to power it up and make the tray go in and out. Although this was purchased with a lot of other equipment from a working environment, I can't prove it works with a demo, so it's being sold as-is and it may not work. I don't see anything physically wrong with it except for cosmetic wear-and-tear. From what I gather, the print head, if it needs replacing, can be done with a replacement head that seems to cost anywhere from 5 and up. One thing I can say is that it's built like a brick house, so wear safety shoes when moving it around.
This machine is supposedly able to print either full-color with a CMY ribbon, or monochrome black, red or blue. I've seen some companies on the web selling other colours, too. The machine prints directly on the disc without the use of ink or labels and is waterproof and smudgeproof. It also looks like the driver for this needs Windows XP, which we don't have, and a mini parallel cable, which we also don't have. There's a DIN-type connector on the back which allows the printer to hook up to a Rimage autoloader which, you guessed it, we don't have either.
So, what's it worth? Beats me. I've seen some on eBay in not-working condition sell for 0 and some for 5. I'm just going to set a random price and let you, the market, decide. It's securely packaged and ready to go, so make an offer and maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised. Again, I'm selling this as-is, partially tested, etc., which is not code for "it's broken, but I don't want to say so" - - I really don't know and can't spend too much time figuring it out. Take a look at the pictures. If you as a buyer have an idea about how to tell by looking at those photos whether there's a problem, share it with me and I'll share that additional information here if I can validate it.
